Shandong, an agricultural powerhouse and a major production base of agricultural machinery, has in recent years been embracing intelligent manufacturing.
A growing number of agricultural machinery companies from the province have also been making their way into overseas markets.
There are currently over 2,000 agricultural machinery equipment manufacturing enterprises, including about 450 large-scale ones, in Shandong. In 2022, the agricultural machinery equipment industry in Shandong generated a revenue of 87 billion yuan ($11.96 billion), a year-on-year growth of 6 percent.
"Since the beginning of this year, we have completed export orders of 400 units worth about 56 million yuan, an increase of 60 percent year-on-year," said Wang Dongming, a senior manager of Deutz-Fahr Machinery Co in Linyi city.
According to Wang, the company's agricultural machinery has been selling well overseas and many orders for products specially developed for markets in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Latin America have been made.

Shandong Yuntai Machinery Co, which is based in Qihe county of Dezhou city, is among those expanding into global markets.
"This batch of intelligent hydraulic disc harrows will be exported to Australia. The product, which has a folding wing design, has been very popular among foreign customers. We receive more than 10 orders for this product from Australia every month," said the company's sales manager Chen Xiuju.
According to Chen, the company manufactures 880 different products related to tillage, fertilization, planting, and plant protection. Every year, about $12 million worth of these products are exported to more than 70 countries and regions, including North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
