Titled "Friendly Shandong, Remarkable Shandong", Shandong Provincial Government province is hosting a promotional event highlighting the province's renowned brands, specialties, handicrafts and picturesque landscapes in Beijing from Nov. 10 to 12.

The opening ceremony of the event kicked off at the Beijing Exhibition Center on the morning of Nov. 10.

At the ceremony, Lin Wu, Party secretary of CPC Shandong committee, said that in recent years, Shandong has consistently strengthened its regional public brands by focusing on improving service and product quality.

Lin noted that Shandong has been working to build renowned brands, provide excellent service, and enhance product quality. "Friendly Shandong, Remarkable Shandong" has become a shining business card for Shandong's high-quality development.

Zhou Naixiang, governor of Shandong province, welcomed friends from around the world to visit Shandong to enjoy breathtaking scenery and delicious cuisine, foster friendships, seek development, and create a prosperous future together.

Caroline Wilson, British Ambassador to China, said that as the third largest provincial economy in China, Shandong presents many opportunities for doing business, and is one of their priority provinces for developing UK and China's trade and investment relations.

"I also love Shandong's big steamed bread and cloth tiger very much," she added.

More than 500 guests, including government officials, diplomatic envoys, think tank experts, scholars and company representatives, as well as nearly 200 journalists attended the opening ceremony and supporting activities.

Special promotion sessions, achievement showcases, experiential sales and exhibitions are scheduled during the promotional event.

The event is designed to showcase the province's brand construction achievements, further enhance local brands' influence, as well as offer a chance for domestic and foreign guests to experience the hospitality of Shandong and the excellent quality of Shandong-made products.
