The Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve in Dongying has transformed into a crucial destination for migratory birds during winter due to the ongoing efforts of the local government to restore the environment in recent years.

Recognized as a prominent "international airport for birds", the reserve currently harbors 373 species of birds and has become a popular attraction for both domestic and international tourists. Thanks to ecological enhancements, an increasing number of wildlife, such as red-crowned cranes and oriental white storks, have sought refuge here.

The best time for bird watching in winter begins in early November every year.
