Twenty-one enterprises in Qingdao city, East China's Shandong province, were recently recognized as national intellectual property demonstration enterprises, according to the China National Intellectual Property Administration.
Eighty-three enterprises in the city were also named as national IP advantageous enterprises.
Qingdao currently has 43 national IP demonstration enterprises and 247 national IP advantageous enterprises. The city has the most demonstration and advantageous enterprises in the province.
National IP demonstration enterprises are companies that have a strategic management concept in IP, industrial influence and a benchmark role. National IP advantageous enterprises are those with comprehensive IP strengths, competitive advantages in the market and regional influence.
Since the beginning of this year, the Qingdao market supervision bureau has played a crucial role in accelerating its transformation into a city with a strong IP sector. It has focused on the cultivation of high-value patents, vigorously protected IPRs, and provided guidance on the use of policy tools for various innovation entities in the city.

Qingdao has also established a comprehensive IP training system to enhance the management capabilities of enterprises. It has organized and held more than 20 training courses at the national and provincial levels that have benefited more than 200 enterprises. Training activities are focused on issues such as data IP, patent open licensing system and trademarks.
In addition, Qingdao has improved the level of IP creation, protection, utilization, management and services to provide a good environment for the innovative development of enterprises.
