In Laiwu district of Jinan, Shandong province, employees of Shandong Haochi Intelligent Automobile Co Ltd are busy producing and delivering the first batch of orders after the Chinese New Year.

The company's commercial NEV project is the first whole-vehicle smart manufacturing base of this kind approved in Shandong, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 units, and is a part of the province's efforts to accelerate the development of new quality productive forces.

Last year, with the influence of policies such as subsidies and exemption from vehicle purchase tax, consumers' confidence in purchasing and using NEVs continued to grow. Haochi has also seen an increase in production orders, with the total production and sales volume increasing both by about 3 percent year-on-year, said the company.

"We focus on the research and development and manufacturing of intelligent new energy logistics vehicles, logistics unmanned vehicles, intelligent life service vehicles, and other models. Currently, they are playing a role in end-of-line express delivery and short-distance distribution in more than 170 cities nationwide," said Liu Chuanfu, chairman of the company, adding that they will further promote the comprehensive electrification of logistics and public sector vehicles in urban areas.

To ensure the expansion of automobile manufacturing, a local power supplier in Laiwu has developed customized power supply plans, regularly conducts customer visits, and inspections, and provides comprehensive guidance on safe electricity use.

"We have learned that the company plans to install a new production line and intends to build a new 35 kV substation. To ensure the expansion of the enterprise's production capacity, we will actively connect with and understand the enterprise's electricity needs, helping to secure their electricity uses," said Wei Xuebin, an employee at State Grid Laiwu Power Supply Co.
